Horses in Harmony Mentorship
My horses in harmony mentorship offering is designed to help you and your horse build a deeper, more meaningful connection that isn’t limited by traditional training methods or specific disciplines. We focus a holistic approach with your horse, looking at their emotional, mental and physical health and how that can contribute to a balanced and genuine partnership together. I am all about breaking down the barriers of what horse training and relationships “should” look like and more interested in what it “feels” like.
Exploring Connection
Our work together will centre on exploring and deepening the bond between you and your horse. This isn’t just about reaching specific goals or mastering a discipline—it’s about nurturing a genuine connection that brings joy, trust, and understanding to your relationship. I embrace a flexible, open approach, so we’re not bound to a particular outcome or discipline. We can explore everything from groundwork to riding, or simply spending time together—whatever feels right for both of you. This open-ended process allows your connection to grow in an authentic way.
Horse-First Focus
Every session is built on mutual respect and consent, ensuring that both you and your horse are heard in all your interactions. This consensual approach fosters a true partnership, where you listen to your horse's needs, helping to create a deeper, more meaningful relationship. Not only do we explore consent in our interactions with our horse, but we will explore cooperative care and your horse-keeping practices, to help your horse thrive not only in their emotional health, but their mental and physical health as well. After all, everything is so tightly interlinked.
Grounding and Being Present with Your Horse
Being grounded and present with your horse is essential for building trust and fostering a calm and peaceful connection. We’ll explore ways to help you both tune into the present, letting go of distractions and external worries. This grounding practice is an incredibly simple (although not always easy), way for you to deepen your connection with your horse.
Collaborative Support
I believe in the power of collaboration. My mentorship is not about following a single, rigid path; instead, it’s about creating a community of support for both you and your horse. I love working with other experts in various fields—whether that’s hoof-care specialists, bodyworkers, or equine nutritionists—to round out the care and support your horse deserves. Together, we will create a well-rounded support network that ensures both you and your horse are getting the help and resources you need to thrive. I’m here to guide you, not dictate a one-size-fits-all approach. No two horses are the same, and no two relationships are the same. Let’s work together to find what works best for both of you and a network of industry professionals that align with your values.
HOW IT WORKS
The Horses in Harmony Mentorship sessions are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing us to focus on your horse’s needs on the day and tailor the session to your specific needs. I am proud to offer these services that are student-lead in my teachings and below are some general guidelines with how I work.
Flexible Session Times
We allocate an hour to an hour and a half for each session, but I’m not bound to a strict time frame. Every horse and relationship is different, and sometimes sessions take a little longer and sometimes they may be a little shorter. The focus is always on the quality of the session rather than the clock.
Whether you have one horse or a herd, the session is adaptable. You don’t need to book separate sessions for each horse. Instead, we can split the time to work with the whole herd in one session, either individually in shorter segments or with the group as a whole. If you prefer to focus the hour / hour and a half on each horse individually, we can certainly book separate sessions as well.
Work in Any Environment
We’re not restricted to a specific environment—sessions can take place in your horse's paddock, an arena, or any other space where you and your horse are comfortable. The location can vary depending on your horse’s needs and how they are feeling that day.
There’s no need to catch your horse beforehand, as we’ll begin the session where your horse is at (this often means starting right in the paddock).
Collaborative Consultations
I also work closely with other industry professionals to ensure your horse’s holistic well-being. If you have other experts such as hoof-care specialists, bodyworkers, or vets working with your horse, I’m happy to join these appointments to provide extra support.
We can coordinate our sessions with these professionals, either by combining them with your regular appointments or scheduling a shorter session focused specifically on their visit. This allows us to address any immediate needs and keep the conversation open for collaboration, ensuring that every aspect of your horse’s care is in alignment with your views.
